Ye”Yara” Wang graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design, with a BFA degree in production design and art direction. Before she came to America, she was studying theater design for three years. Following those years’ experiences of learning, she realized that she loves film and TV more than theater. Therefore, she transferred to SCAD and started her film journey there. Recently she graduated from American Film Institute Conservatory production design 2022. There, she honed her skills in designing for various film genres. Over the course of her career, she has created immersive worlds for more than twenty short films, spanning from Chinese period pieces to American science fiction, including two thesis films during her time at AFI. Notably, her two thesis films, "The Roadside Banquet" and "Cherubs," received official selections at prestigious film festivals such as the New York Asian Film Festival, the Cleveland International Film Festival, and the Paris International Film Festival.
Yara also worked as an art director on the feature film "Smoking Tigers," which won the Best Screenplay award at the Tribeca Film Festival.
